My Chemical Romance Sparks New Album Rumors 16 Years After Last Release
Gerard Way said the band hopes to start work on its first full album in 16 years after years of touring and one 2022 single.
- On Saturday, Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way hinted at plans for a new album during the Black Parade Tour closing show at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
- The group has spent the past year celebrating the 20th anniversary of the 2006 The Black Parade, following a limited return that included one 2022 single.
- "We should probably make more songs," Way told fans, adding that supporters "deserve another record" following their last album in 2010.
- Chemical Romance continues touring through festival appearances at Louder Than Life and Aftershock, followed by a Los Angeles residency at the Hollywood Bowl concluding on Halloween.
- After the residency, the band will embark on a monthlong tour of Asia, at which point the group hopes to get back into the studio for their first album in 16 years.
