MVP MMA 01 Salaries: Ronda Rousey, Gina Carano, Francis Ngannou, and Others Earn Bumper Paydays
Ronda Rousey led the disclosed payouts at $2.2 million, while Francis Ngannou earned $1.5 million and Gina Carano took $1.05 million.
On Saturday, May 16, the California State Athletic Commission released fighter payouts for Netflix's first official mixed martial arts broadcast at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.
Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano headlined the card, marking Rousey's first MMA fight in nearly 10 years and Carano's return after a 17-year hiatus from professional competition.
Rousey earned a guaranteed $2.2 million for her 17-second armbar submission victory, while Carano received $1.05 million for her return to the cage.
Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou earned $1.5 million for his knockout victory, while Nate Diaz received $500,000 and Mike Perry was paid $400,000 for their co-main event bout.
While it remains uncertain if the Netflix broadcast was a success, each fighter on the card received at least $40,000 for participating; some may have earned additional non-disclosed payments.
