A mother is on trial for murder at the Krems Regional Court on Thursday, accused of killing her 15-month-old son. The 29-year-old is charged with strangling the boy for several minutes on February 18 in Groß Gerungs (Zwettl district), allegedly causing him to suffocate, suffer respiratory and brain paralysis, and ultimately die. The woman is then accused of attempting suicide.
