Murder Investigation Launched After Man Found Dead in Caravan in Lay-By
A 56-year-old man is in custody as detectives examine a reported altercation before the victim died, police said.
On Monday, July 6, Leicestershire Police launched a murder inquiry after discovering a man dead inside a caravan on Derby Road in Loughborough.
Investigators are examining reports that the victim had been involved in a confrontation in the days preceding his death; East Midlands Ambulance Service attended the scene where he was pronounced dead.
A 56-year-old man remains in police custody after being arrested on suspicion of murder, while officers are currently conducting forensic examinations in the surrounding area.
Detective Inspector Mike Chandler, from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit, is leading the investigation; authorities confirmed Wednesday that enquiries remain at an early stage.
