Municipal households may need to restrict water use under new drought contingency plans

The provincial government is asking some municipalities across Prince Edward Island to implement new contingency plans that will help conserve water during droughts by reducing consumption and minimizing waste.

P.E.I. municipalities to adopt water conservation contingency plans

Prince Edward Island – With the possibility of drought looming, municipalities in the province are being urged to adopt contingency plans for water conservation. About 10 P.E.I. municipalities are required to approve contingency plans to enable them to renew water withdrawal permits.
