In March, LFI managed to establish itself in several major cities, including Vénissieux, Vaulx-en-Velin and Saint-Fons. However, appeals were filed in these three municipalities in the Lyon suburbs.
The Lyon Administrative Court ruled on Tuesday, 29 September. The municipal elections of Vénissieux, which took place last March, were cancelled due to irregularities on the RN-UDR list.
The Lyon Administrative Court took this decision because these irregularities, found on a common list between the National Rally and the Union des droites pour la République, Eric Ciotti's party, were able to influence extremely tight results.
