Mum’s Heartfelt Plea for Help as Missing Kayaker's Cap Found Off Welsh Coast
Sarah Wilson said searches were suspended after 1 body was found and appealed for help finding her son’s belongings and kayak.
North Wales Police confirmed on Wednesday, July 29, that a body found near Llwyngwril, Gwynedd, is that of missing kayaker Simon Wilson, who vanished last week from Pwllheli alongside his companion, Connor Parfitt.
Wilson and Parfitt were last seen departing on inflatable kayaks near the beach at Hafan-y-Mor, Pwllheli, on July 21, prompting widespread search efforts along the Welsh coast.
Sarah Wilson recently urged the public to "keep looking" for her son, reporting that his cap was located near Milford Haven, while Parfitt's body was recovered in Aberystwyth on Sunday.
Chief Inspector Stephen Pawson expressed his "deepest condolences" to the family after the recovery, confirming that officers are continuing to support them during this time.
Authorities thanked volunteers and partner agencies who assisted in the search, while the family requested that privacy be respected for both Wilson and Parfitt during this "incredibly difficult time.
