1 Dead, 3 Injured After Shootout and Crash Near Baltimore's Mondawmin Mall, Police Say
The shooting involved multiple firearms and resulted in one death and three injuries during a crash in a West Baltimore mall parking lot, police said.
- On Monday night, Police Commissioner Richard Worley said one person was killed and three injured after a shootout and vehicle crash near Mondawmin Mall in the 2400 block of Liberty Heights Avenue.
- Onlookers said it looked like the crash occurred in the parking lot where the two vehicles were crashed together, including a blue pickup missing a front tire and a side door blown off, as shown by footage from WJZ.
- Authorities recovered three handguns and a rifle, and the police responded at about 9:30 p.m. to an extensive crime scene spanning Liberty Heights Avenue toward Monroe Street, Worley said.
- Multiple streets were shut down and officials urged the public to avoid the area, and authorities have not released victims' identities, ages or conditions while a police officer said the four victims were male.
- Baltimore Police posted on Twitter on February 17 and included imagery of the crashed vehicles, while officials said more information will be provided as it becomes available.
