Paterson, N.J. Shooting Leaves 2 Dead, 4 Wounded on Mother's Day
Police found six victims and marked dozens of shell casings as officials investigated the shooting’s cause.
On Sunday night, a mass shooting at the intersection of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Godwin Avenue in Paterson, New Jersey, left two men, ages 43 and 29, dead and four others wounded.
Responding officers transported all six victims to Saint Joseph's University Medical Center while investigators from the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office processed dozens of shell casings and evidence at the scene.
Paterson City Councilman Alex Mendez said the city is "out of control," while Mayor Andre Sayegh called it a "senseless act of gun violence," stating "any act of gun violence is one too many."
Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes and Paterson Police Officer in Charge Patrick Murray have not released details about suspects, though the four surviving victims remain in stable condition.
