Multiple law enforcement agencies part of ongoing joint investigation
Federal and local agencies collaborate on a court-authorized search warrant as part of a joint investigation targeting multiple Omaha hotels, officials said.
- On Aug. 12, 2025, federal and local agencies executed a criminal search warrant at the New Victorian Inn & Suites, part of an ongoing joint investigation, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security said.
- The FBI Omaha office launched Operation Summer Heat, a multi-year, multi-agency probe targeting alleged trafficking at area motels and brow and lash salons.
- A large law enforcement presence was visible at the New Victorian Inn & Suites on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025, with agents seizing more than $565,000 in cash and rescuing 10 minors and 17 adults.
- According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, those arrested include Kentakumar Chaudhari, Rashmi Ajit Samani, Amit Prahladbhai Chaudhari, Amit Babubhai Chaudhari and Maheshkumar Chaudhari, during the ongoing joint investigation.
- As the probe continues, the federal government is barring sale or transfer of the hotels, and individuals in the country without proper documentation are also being detained.
