Multiple fire departments respond to commercial fire, $250K worth of fire damage

ST. JOSEPH, Mich. -- The Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety reports they responded to an automatic aid call from the St. Joseph Department of Public Safety for a commercial fire at Hoffman Diecast on Kerth in St. Joseph around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Fire at St. Joseph commercial facility results in $250k+ damage

Several area fire crews responded to a call Tuesday evening at Hoffman Diecast on Kerth Street in St. Joseph.  Officials say the call came in just after 8 pm. Employees were evacuated and crews found fire on the inside and on the roof of the factory. Responders were able to knock down the fire inside and sent a team to the roof to extinguish that part of the blaze.  Officials say the fire was brought under control within 20 minutes and no injuri…
