On Thursday, July 30, a far-right activist, who was a Reconquête candidate in the municipal elections in Mulhouse, was sentenced to three months in prison with a suspended sentence for making a Nazi salute on the sidelines of a demonstration.
Anthony Thoma, a 28-year-old real estate agent and member of Action Française, made this gesture on the sidelines of a demonstration in favor of women's rights on 8 March. He was tried in immediate court on 13 July for “glorifying a crime or misdemeanour”.
