- Mega airports, defined as facilities serving 33 million or more passengers annually, face rigorous evaluation across seven satisfaction categories. MSP ranks as the 17th busiest airport in North America, serving more than 36 million passengers in 2025.
- The study, based on 24,710 surveys, found that multiyear, billion-dollar capital improvement projects are yielding higher satisfaction scores. Signage and authentic local food brands emerged as key drivers of passenger satisfaction across top-ranked facilities.
- Brian Ryks, CEO and executive director of the Metropolitan Airports Commission , called the ranking an "unprecedented achievement, especially given the consistently strong performance," reflecting traveler appreciation for MSP's service and amenities.
- Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport followed MSP in mega airport rankings, while Tampa International Airport and Charleston International Airport led the large and medium airport categories, respectively.
