It’s after a woman was sexually assaulted in one of the chain’s hotel rooms in 2022 by a man who was given a key card by staff. 29-year-old Kyran Smith from Staines was given the card after lying to staff at a Travelodge branch in Maidenhead. He’d said he was the woman’s boyfriend and was jailed for seven years and six months following a trial at Reading Crown Court.
