Áine O'Reilly was remembered for her warmth and dedication by colleagues and community at a large funeral following her death in a three-car crash, with tributes from near and far.

  • On Wednesday, mourners and nursing colleagues from London filled St John the Baptist Church in Nicker for the funeral mass, attended by a large crowd.
  • Traveling to a Shannondoc overnight shift, Aine O'Reilly was fatally injured in a three‑car collision on the N24 near Grange West, Boher on February 13; the crash left another motorist injured and one driver fled the scene.
  • Mourners and family described Ms O'Reilly as someone who gave to family, community and colleagues, while her brother Eoin O'Reilly called her a `brilliant` nurse with a `warm and open smile`.
  • Following the service, Ms O'Reilly was laid to rest in St Columba's Cemetery, Pallasgreen, with a guard of honour from ShannonDoc and tributes from neighbours, colleagues and national mourners.
