Police said neighbors reported high foot traffic before officers seized an unsecured 12-gauge shotgun, drugs and arrested one man on a B.C.-wide warrant.
- On Saturday, July 18, the Kelowna RCMP Target Team executed a search warrant at Okanagan Manor, arresting one man on a British Columbia-wide warrant and seizing a 12-gauge pump-action shotgun and controlled substances.
- Police initiated the operation after tipsters flagged activity in the 800-block of Jones Street, citing concerns about individuals "contributing to significant public safety concerns and not complying with City of Kelowna property standards."
- Throughout early July, officers observed a high volume of foot traffic entering and leaving the residence, prompting assistance from the Southeast District Emergency Response Team during the search warrant execution.
- The City of Kelowna Property Standards Compliance Team is investigating bylaw violations identified at the property while the Kelowna RCMP investigation remains ongoing.
- Sergeant Guillaume Tanguay of the Kelowna RCMP Proactive Enforcement Unit said operations responding to public concerns "help make our communities safer," encouraging residents to continue reporting suspicious activity.
