Officer on Horseback Chases Suspect Through New York Streets
- On Wednesday, NYPD Officer Kyle McLaughlin and his horse, Kelly, apprehended a purse snatcher at W. 72nd St. and Columbus Ave. after a victim reported the theft.
- Authorities identified the suspect as 44-year-old Felicia Field, who served 24 years for the April 29, 2000, killing of livery cab driver Cesar Manuel Lopez and remains on lifetime parole.
- Since her release from prison on April 24, 2025, Field has been arrested for misdemeanor assault in Brooklyn on Feb. 17 and larceny in Manhattan on March 23. She is currently homeless.
- Police charged Field with grand larceny and false personation following the Wednesday pursuit. Her arraignment was pending Thursday in Manhattan Criminal Court, with no injuries reported during the chase.
- The NYPD released body cam footage of the chase on Thursday, stating on X that officers are "always ready" to respond to incidents whether patrolling on foot or on hooves.
