Mother, 26, of Abandoned Infant Arrested in More than Year-Old Riverside Case
Detectives identified the child’s mother after a yearlong investigation, and police said bail was set at $35,000.
- Riverside Police Department announced on Friday the arrest of Astrid Nohemi Lopez Ramos, 26, for child endangerment. Officers booked Ramos into the Robert Presley Detention Center on September 17, over one year after a newborn was abandoned in a dumpster.
- On May 4, 2025, officials received reports of a crying baby in a dumpster enclosure in the 3800 block of Jackson Street. The infant was discovered exposed to rain with his umbilical cord still attached.
- Paramedics transported the newborn to a local hospital for treatment. Investigators stated they believe the infant was delivered just hours before his discovery.
- Ramos remains out of custody with bail set at $35,000 according to court records. Her next court appearance is scheduled for January 12, 2027, at the Riverside Hall of Justice.
