Moscow Court Orders Pre-Trial Detention of Political Analyst Ekaterina Schulmann in Absentia
Moscow’s Meshchansky District Court on Friday ordered the pre-trial detention in absentia of exiled political commentator Ekaterina Schulmann on charges of failing to comply with the country’s “foreign agent” law.
The Moscow District Court has ordered that political scientist Catherine Schulman be detained in absentia for two months.* She is accused of avoiding the obligations established by Russian law for foreign agents (article 330.1, paragraph 2, of the Criminal Code) and is informed by the press service of the ordinary courts in the capital.

In March of this year, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that she had been wanted.
