The last two heat waves caused 123 excess deaths, a value below the forecasts of the Instituto Nacional de Saúde Doctor Ricardo Jorge (Insa), revealed the Director General of Health.
Rita Sá Machado points out that the impact of the heat waves is not immediate, so only after 15 days will there be a more accurate understanding of what happened. For now, the excess from the two heat waves is 123 deaths.
