Moreno: Residents can now text RGV 9-1-1 in Spanish – Rio Grande Guardian

WESLACO, Texas – In the case of an emergency, residents do not have to call RGV 9-1-1. They can  text a message instead, if they so wish.  This texting service has been in place for a decade but not enough people know about it, said Dennis Moreno, assistant director for RGV 9-1-1.  What is new is that residents can now text in any language, not just English.
