The issue of sexual violence against babies and very young children has resurfaced in recent months.
Every year, new data point to the extent to which sexual violence against children remains massive, but the latest report of the Miprof reveals an even more difficult reality to sustain: in 2024, more than 600 babies aged 0 to 2 years were welcomed into a medical-judicial unit (UMJ) for acts of sexual violence. A statistic that is upsetting, because it concerns children too young to speak, to testify, to alert themselves.
On Thursday, November 20, 2025, the Interministerial Mission for the Protection of Women published a damning report on violence against minors in 2024. It reveals, in particular, that more than six hundred infants were victims of sexual violence.
