On Monday, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) announced that more than 145,000 people had been displaced in eight Yemeni governorates as a result of the escalation of fighting on the western coast of the country since last June, warning against continuing waves of displacement as the security situation deteriorated.
The number of displaced people in Yemen has exceeded 145,000, after military escalation forced nearly 16,000 to flee their homes in a single week, according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM). The IOM stated that continued insecurity is driving more families to flee, at a time when humanitarian needs are rapidly increasing. It confirmed that its teams are providing services including shelter, cash assistance, and clean water.
The International Organization for Migration warned that thousands of families need emergency shelter, food and protection.
