The Consumers and Users Federation (CECU) has filed a complaint with the General Consumer Directorate against Booking and Airbnb, the main online short-term rental platforms, for failing to publish the registration number in short-term rental announcements.

It will not be easy for customers to get money back from Booking.com for excessive rates for stays, says legal specialist Sjaak Drinkenburg of legal service provider DAS. He is responding to the mass claim by the Consumers' Association against the well-known hotel booking site, which received more than 180,000 registrations within a week.
