More brands of Dubai chocolate recalled in salmonella outbreak linked to pistachios
At least 52 people fell ill and 10 were hospitalized due to salmonella in pistachios and related products, prompting recalls of multiple brands across Canada.
- Thursday, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency recalled various pistachio and pistachio-containing products distributed in British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec and online due to a salmonella outbreak.
- Following a salmonella outbreak linked to pistachios, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency recalled Dubai brand Pistachio and Knafeh Milk Chocolate bars, among others.
- Public Health Agency of Canada found that Habibi Pistachio Kernel in 10-kilogram bags and Al Mokhtar pistachios in 450-gram bags have also been recalled.
- Consumers are urged to avoid consuming, selling, or distributing recalled pistachio products, according to the Public Health Agency of Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
- Statistics show over 50 people, including three in B.C., have been sickened since August 14, 2025, linked to the salmonella outbreak, as recalls expand in Canada.
