Customs have already seized nearly 20 tons of marijuana in the port of Antwerp this year, according to Gazet van Antwerpen. In 2023, that figure was only 366 kilos. The drugs come primarily from Canada, as well as the US and Thailand. In those countries, cannabis production, either wholly or partially, is legally permitted for the domestic market.
