Former President Michel Temer stated that he had spoken by phone with the Minister of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), Alexandre de Moraes, and that he was advised to seek dialogue with Minister André Mendonça, as a way of trying to contain the crisis in the Court. Temer was responsible for pointing Moraes to the STF in 2017 to fill the vacancy left by Minister Teori Zavascki, who died in an air accident in January of that year.
