Jesse Klaver will provisionally lead the GroenLinks-PvdA parliamentary group, the group decided Monday. The members of parliament of the left-wing merger party were left leaderless after Frans Timmermans resigned Wednesday evening due to the election defeat.
Jesse Klaver (39) is the new parliamentary leader of GroenLinks-PvdA. The cartel decided this during a meeting. Previous chairman Frans Timmermans resigned after GroenLinks-PvdA's disappointing results in last week's elections. He said at the time that it was "time for a new generation."
