Montreal, Quebec City Named Canada’s Co-Host Cities for Women’s Volleyball World Cup
The 32-country tournament will award three remaining Olympic spots for Los Angeles 2028, with Canada using it as a dress rehearsal.
On Thursday, October 1, 2026, officials announced Montreal and Quebec City as co-host cities for the women's volleyball World Cup, making its North American debut in 2027.
Montreal's Bell Centre and Quebec City's Videotron Centre join Orlando, Anaheim, and Omaha in hosting the 32-country tournament's pool phase and Round of 16 matches from August 20 to 28.
The tournament runs from Aug. 5 to Sept. 5, 2027, featuring defending champion Italy, with Anaheim hosting the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final.
Top nations not yet qualified will punch their tickets to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, as the World Cup serves as an Olympic qualifier.
Canada's women have already claimed an Olympic berth by winning a regional NORCECA tournament in the Dominican Republic in Aug., making this World Cup an important Olympic dress rehearsal.
