In a speech which defended the measures to be taken by UGT by an agreement, the prime minister accused the union centre of presenting a proposal "completely disqualified".
Luís Montenegro, Prime Minister and President of the PSD, defended the labour law to make Portugal "more competitive and productive", looking for "better wages and incomes" for workers. Given that he did not wish to negotiate, he will meet for the week with the social partners.
The government will meet with social partners in the next week. Negotiations on labour reform continue, but the prime minister warns that "the debate will not last"
