Monsoon Tracker Live Updates: Heavy monsoon rains battered large parts of India on Wednesday, triggering flash floods, waterlogging and major disruptions to rail and road traffic, while rescue teams raced to reach people trapped in rain-related incidents across several states. In Maharashtra's Pimpri Chinchwad, 11 people were feared trapped after a garbage mound collapsed following incessant rainfall. Rescue operations were underway. In Gujarat, Surat witnessed flood-like conditions after receiving 358 mm of rain in the 24 hours ending Wednesday morning. At least nine people have died in rain-related incidents in the district over the past few days. Heavy rains also triggered a debris collapse in Kerala's Wayanad and flash floods in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district, while several other parts of Maharashtra reported rain-related deaths and widespread disruptions. Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke with the chief ministers of Kerala, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Jammu and Kashmir to review the situation and assured them of all possible assistance from the Centre. The downpour also drenched the national capital, leaving several areas waterlogged and slowing traffic across the city. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued red and orange alerts for Delhi, warning of more thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and heavy rain in several districts. Mumbai also continued to reel under waterlogging as persistent rainfall affected normal life in parts of the city. In Uttarakhand, the IMD issued an orange alert warning of heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Haridwar, Tehri, Rudraprayag, Pauri, Chamoli, Almora and Bageshwar districts.
