UPI Transactions Can Now Be Completed In 10 To 15 Seconds: What It Means
- UPI transactions in India can now be completed in 10 to 15 seconds, down from 30 seconds, as mandated by the National Payments Corporation of India .
- Customers will be able to check their account balance via UPI apps up to 50 times a day to improve system efficiency, according to NPCI.
- To improve fraud prevention, UPI apps must display only the actual beneficiary's name during transactions, as stated by NPCI.
- In May 2025, UPI recorded 1,868 crore transactions, a 33 percent increase from last year, with a total value of Rs 25.14 lakh crore.
