Texas Mom Tracked Child's Phone After Car Stolen with 3 Kids Inside, Sheriff Says
Humble police stopped the stolen vehicle minutes later, and deputies said all three children were recovered without injuries.
On Monday, a suspect stole a vehicle from the 700 block of Aldine Mail Route Road with three children inside, ages 1, 3, and 10. The Harris County Sheriff reported all three children are safe.
Investigators learned a woman left her three children inside the vehicle while running into a store in Aldine, at which point a male suspect allegedly entered the vehicle and drove away.
According to HCSO, the 10-year-old managed to escape shortly after the theft, calling police while walking along Aldine Bender Road, and was taken to the hospital and expected to be OK.
Humble Police Department officers located the stolen vehicle on the Eastex Freeway and conducted a traffic stop, placing the suspect in custody and safely recovering the two younger children.
Authorities identified the suspect as Xavion Starks, who was arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and has been booked into the Harris County Jail.
