The Republic of Moldova lost 28,656 inhabitants in a single year – official data published by the National Bureau of Statistics show. If on January 1, 2024 the population with usual residence was 2,415,549 people, on January 1, 2025 it reached 2,386,893. The decrease is also clearly visible by gender.
