Tuchel Hails 'Complete Performance' as England Thrash Croatia

Tuchel said England were fluid, clinical and hungry after Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka each scored twice in a record rout.

  • On Saturday night in Rijeka, England thrashed Croatia 7-0 in the UEFA Nations League, with braces from Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka securing one of manager Thomas Tuchel's most impressive results.
  • Tuchel hailed the team's 'complete performance' against Croatia, noting the squad maintained high intensity throughout the 90-minute match with clinical finishing and fluid movement from start to finish.
  • Croatia captain Luka Modric admitted feeling 'ashamed' for the first time in his 20-year international career, calling the record defeat 'unacceptable' and a betrayal of the reputation the team built.
  • Debuting Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott held his own against the Croatian midfield, later describing England's current talent as 'frightening' and insisting the team must build on this momentum.
  • England's next test comes Tuesday at Wembley against Czechia, where the team aims to secure a third Nations League victory from four matches and extend the dominant run.
