- Rudy Rodriguez, Talk to Me Jimmy's trainer and co-owner, said `Today was a test to find out what we've got,` and added `I think he passed the test.`
- Ridden by Ruben Silvera, Talk to Me Jimmy ran nine furlongs in 1:51.68 and paid $26.54 t to win at 12-1 odds, earning $110,000.
- The remaining finishers included Fourth and One, Mailata, Grittiness, Ottinho, Schoolyardsuperman, and Star Sweeper, with Grittiness finishing second for 10 points and Ottinho third for six points.
- Concerning the start contact, the trainer added `I don't know how bad it is yet, but we'll take a look and clean him up good and take it from there.` after brushing with Mailata, who was bumped at the gate.
