Mobility in cities: often on foot and by bike, less by car

The everyday mobility of residents of German cities is changing – towards more walking and cycling traffic, a mix of mobility and less car use. This is the result of the current long-term study "Mobility in Cities".

In Dresden, mobility is changing significantly. This is shown by the survey "Mobility in Cities" from 2023 at TU Dresden. After that, more and more people are walking, cycling or using public transport. The total distance travelled by car has fallen by 18 percent to 4.8 million kilometres since 2018.
