Dashcam Video Shows Twin Cities Officer Arrest Southern Minnesota Officer in Suspected DWI Crash
A breath test showed a 0.28 blood alcohol concentration, and court records say he faces two DWI counts and a pistol charge.
On Thursday, May 21, 2026, the Bloomington Police Department arrested Chatfield police officer Kenneth Gallion after he crashed his vehicle at 94th Street West and Lyndale Avenue while allegedly driving intoxicated.
Before the incident, Gallion had just finished an off-duty shift at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in Falcon Heights while in full uniform, according to Bloomington Police Chief Booker Hodges.
A breath test revealed Gallion had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.28, more than three times the legal limit of 0.08, and he faces two DWI counts plus carrying a pistol while intoxicated.
The Chatfield City Council terminated Gallion at an emergency meeting on Thursday, and a court granted him $12,000 bail with conditions on Friday, May 22, 2026.
Bloomington Police Chief Hodges condemned the arrest, stating, 'That's completely unacceptable and not who we are as a profession,' while emphasizing the department will enforce the law regardless of offender status.
