Minnesota's chief cannabis official leaving as licensing period nears

The Minnesota Office of Cannabis Management has a new interim director, Eric Taubel, as announced by Governor Peggy Flanagan.
Taubel, who has been General Counsel for the office, will take over after Charlene Briner steps down on January 17.
This marks the third change in leadership since the office was created in August 2023, following the resignation of Erin Dupree.
Marijuana licensing in Minnesota has been delayed until at least June 2025 due to a canceled preapproval lottery.
