Mizzou Basketball's Mark Mitchell Named to All-SEC Second Team

- On Monday, senior forward Mark Mitchell was named to the All-SEC Second Team as the SEC released its men's basketball awards.
- Mitchell averaged 17.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists this season, and is one of five players nationally to post over 550 points, 160 rebounds and 110 assists.
- In his final regular season game, Mitchell became the 49th player in Mizzou history to surpass 1,000 career points as a Tiger, during the 88-84 overtime loss to Arkansas on Saturday.
- Mitchell will begin postseason play in Round 2 at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Nashville, closing his collegiate career against the winner of LSU and Kentucky and earning All-SEC team honors every season played.
- He joins Kobe Brown as only the second Tiger to earn SEC recognition twice, and Gates said 'Whether it's retired or honored, they have impacted where this program is in a place where, around us, the game of basketball is evolving.
