Mississippi financial literacy mandate increases economic knowledge statewide
Senate Bill 2294, first taken up in the Senate Education Committee during the 2026 regular legislative session, became law July 1, 2026. Known as the Mississippi Math Act, it includes new requirements for financial literacy, computer science, and civics education.
