Missing Kentucky Teen Found with Truck Driver in Idaho
The driver was taken into custody without incident as FBI-led agencies recovered the teen during Operation Summer Heat 2.0, officials said.
A 16-year-old girl reported missing from Bowling Green, Kentucky, was found safe in Idaho on Sept. 30, according to FBI Louisville.
The FBI confirmed the teen was found with a 32-year-old truck driver, who was taken into custody without incident.
Various agencies participated in the recovery, including the Boise Resident Agency, FBI Salt Lake City, Idaho State Police, the Twin Falls Police Department, and the Warren County Sheriff.
Following the rescue, the girl was reunited with her family this past weekend. The FBI stated the agency will continue working to "keep America's children safe from those who seek to harm them."
This recovery occurred during Operation Summer Heat 2.0, an initiative ending in Sept. The FBI successfully identified over 1,400 child victims during the operation, with ongoing efforts to protect children nationwide.
