Speaking at the ACI World Airport Experience Summit 2026, hosted by IGA Istanbul Airport, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdülkadir Uraloğlu announced that the construction of Istanbul Airport's fourth main runway has reached its final stage. The 2,820-meter-long, east-west runway is expected to be operational in the coming days following technical testing.

We have reached the final stage of our work on the 4th main runway of Istanbul Airport."
