The Minister of Energy and Mines, Jorge Luis Montero, guaranteed that since January 1, 2026 there will no longer be a Comprehensive Register of Mining Formalization (Reinfo) but a new law of small mining and artisanal mining, although this is still under discussion at the level of a commission in Congress.

During the last press conference after the Council of Ministers, the Minister of Energy and Mines, Jorge Montero, announced that the Comprehensive Register of Mining Formalization (Reinfo) will come to an end this year. The Minem holder explained that Law 32213, which regulates the Reinfo, will be amended.
