Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan says a new defense agreement between Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkey is not aimed at Iran or any other country.
Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkey signed the agreement yesterday, Friday, in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement signed between Turkey, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia is technically the same as NATO's Article 5, which regulates collective defense. Fidan noted that the agreement marks the beginning of a regional defense alliance, adding, "These three countries are the core countries."
