Minecraft Confirms The Sift, Its First New Dimension Since 2012

At the Minecraft Live showcase on Saturday, Mojang announced The Sift, a new dimension coming to Minecraft Java and Bedrock Edition in 2027.
The Sift marks the first new dimension added to Minecraft in 15 years, joining the Overworld, The Nether, and The End as the game's fourth official dimension.
Described as "beautiful, vibrant, and teeming with souls," the Sift appears in Minecraft Dungeons launching September 29, featuring underground ice caves and the Frozen Zombie mob.
Mojang confirmed Minecraft will launch on Nintendo Switch on October 27, while also teasing a "creator platform" for content makers and a Minecraft-themed park at Chessington World.
These announcements follow recent studio restructuring at Microsoft-owned Xbox. Players can access the Sift in Minecraft Dungeons on September 29, but must wait until 2027 for the main Minecraft Java and Bedrock Edition release.
