On the Croatian island of Brač, firefighters battled a large-scale fire all night, which at times threatened the Milna area. The situation calmed down in the morning, but the fire left behind around 3,000 hectares of destroyed land. Around 200 people, including many tourists, had to be evacuated due to the danger.
"That was a disaster last night. That's simply impossible. I didn't see it with my own eyes. I couldn't believe that it could sweep away everything in front of it at such a speed," Milna Mayor Frane Lozić told us.
