Middle school track stars break long-standing records

At the Hayden Invitational on May 10, two East Grand Middle School track athletes broke school records. Track coach Mark Loberg said that Bree Byrnes earned a time of 5:48.75 in the 1600 meter run. She beat the 2007 record of 5:52, held by Samantha Berggren. Ben Kaune ran the 1600 meter with a time of 5:08.95. This topped the 2014 record of 5:18.96 by Chase Dornbusch.
