Gaza: 54 unidentified Palestinian bodies returned for mass burial
A collective funeral was held on Wednesday in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, for 54 unidentified Palestinians whose bodies were returned from Israel, the Palestinian Civil Defense (PCD) said. The PCD noted that many of the bodies could not be identified by their families because of the harsh conditions surrounding their deaths. Gabrielle Nadler has the latest.
54 bodies returned by Israel buried in Gaza mass grave
The remains of 54 unidentified Palestinian detainees returned to Gaza by Israel were buried in a mass grave in Deir al-Balah. Allegations that the bodies showed signs of mistreatment were strongly denied by the Israeli government.
Israel has handed over another 54 bodies of Palestinians to the authorities in the Gaza Strip.
