Mid-October Storm Floods Homes, Triggers Mudslides in Questa Area

A massive rainstorm swept through northern Taos County late Oct. 15 into the early hours of Oct. 16, flooding homes and forcing the closure of a key roadway between Questa and Red River. Multiple residents across the Questa region reported waking between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. to find water inside their homes as heavy rainfall overwhelmed drainage and runoff swelled into residential areas.
